He has receding hair, sideburns and possibly a chin beard. He wears a dark jacket, trousers and waistcoat, white shirt and dark cravat. A gold watch chain (gold highlights) is on his waistcoat. Pince-nez hang from a cord around his neck. A ring is on the little finger of his left hand. The background may be real or painted: a fluted column with drapery over the base of this and panelling to the left. Hand coloured, gold highlights.
